Level Design Exercise (Personal Project)
I set out to design an open-world mission location that would work in a Far Cry game (in this case Far Cry 5, modern day)
It needed to support a 360° approach by players (multiple entry and exit points, including vantage points, pathways to engage and disengage)
It needed to support multiple playstyles, as would be tradition for Far Cry games
Stealth (Silenced Weapons, Stealth Takedowns)
Assault (“Guns Blazing”, Shotguns, Assault Rifles, etc.)
Long Range (Sniper, Rifles)
Player Objectives:
Mission Description (based inside Far Cry 5):
“A local commercial bank in Montana, near Hope County is being raided by Jacob's Chosen and they're trying to break into the vault to steal the fortunes. We can't allow the Project at Edens Gate cult to gain any more resources to fund their lunatic doomsday plans. They tried drilling into the vault but failed and have set up charges to blow things open instead. The bank manager with the vault codes has been knocked out by an eccentric cult VIP during careless interrogation. The VIP is running the whole operation. They're holding the manager and other employees hostage inside offices. We should stop the cult members from blowing open the vault, neutralize the VIP, and rescue the employees, including the manager.”

Gameplay Ingredients which are supported/taken into account
All elements you would find in recent Far Cry games, such as s hostile & friendly enemies/AI, varied gunplay (short,mid,long ranges), grappling hook, parkour-esque traversal (climbing, vaulting, jumping, parachute etc.), ziplines, scan vision/binoculars, enemy marking, destruction of windows/foliage/softer structures, intertactables & inspectables items (notes, buttons, doors), explosives (grenades, rocket launchers, vehicles (ground & aerial), ammo crates, looting corpses, health packs
